Are there any shared hosts that support PostgreSQL and Ruby on Rails? Dreamhost, my current host, doesn't. Or maybe a VPS host. I kinda have a limited budget so prefer shared for now. |

Hey All. Just want to say that I moved all of my sites to BurstNet VPS. Enjoying a lot of disk space and memory. Significantly cheaper compared to Linode and Slicehost. I have tried all of those options in the past. Another good option which is not shared hosting is the free Amazon ECS instance. Or heroku. I still use and prefer BurstNet VPS. |

Try fivebean, I got the link from StackOverflow and it's probably the cheapest VPS I've seen (6 USD/mo for their lowest plan of 5GB space/100 GB bandwidth a month). I haven't tried any of their services though but it's a probably worth the shot given the entry level price. |

Best VPS I've found so far is ramhost. It's cheap and doesn't go down like fsckvps.com! I'm using the standard plan burstable to 768mb ram at 11.99/mo. Interesting... their bonus plan is almost like the standard plan for fivebean. I like fivebean so far. looks like ramhost is suffering the same symptom as my dev vps host, delimiter, and that's always being sold out :D ahh... never experienced any issues so far with fivebean/linode. But I might try ramhost next month. I am curious whether the lag is caused by Rails3 or my setup or just the webhost. |

WebFaction offers shared hosting that supports PostgreSQL and Rails. Their plans start at $5.50/month, which is good enough for relatively small apps. |

webfaction is what you want. They are amazing and support everything you might imagine, mysql, postgresql, latest versions of python, ruby, etc. In fact, NullPointer.ph is hosted by WebFaction. :) |
Care to share what is your budget?
I'm paying around $150 per year for Dreamhost. Anything that exceeds $100 per year for a simple experimental project seems a lot for me. I'm just playing.
